Citrus County MLS offers its members several training opportunities on all the tech tools provided. The training commonly consists of recurrent weekly or monthly seminars, courses, or classes on topics such as Matrix, Form Simplicity, etc. Most MLS members attend these classes in person at the board headquarters. The dates and times are announced on RACC’s monthly informative bulletin, their social media platforms, or the virtual calendar available on the MLS website

How does a new member go about being added to the REALTORS® Association Of Citrus County?

Agents interested in joining the REALTORS® Association Of Citrus County must:

  • Be Florida licensed brokers or real estate agents who are actively engaged in their business. 
  • Passed the required examinations. 
  • Agree in writing that if elected to membership, they will adhere to the Code Of Ethics of the National Association of REALTORS® as well as RACC’s constitution, bylaws and policies.
  • Have no recent or pending bankruptcy or insolvency proceedings, Code of Ethics violations within the past three (3) years, pending ethics complaints or arbitration requests, unsatisfied discipline, or misuse of the term REALTOR® in their name.

Citrus County MLS has a long history of supporting local initiatives in Citrus County, FL. Each year, the MLS chooses three local charities to support. Jessie’s Place Children’s Advocacy Center, Citrus AID Cancer Foundation, and Humanitarians of Florida are some organizations local agents dedicate hours and financial aid to. Citrus County MLS is also always prepared to help the community in case of a natural disaster or in times of need.

The REALTORS® Association of Citrus County offers seven (7) different membership options according to the board’s bylaws. Those options are:

What are the requirements for membership in the MLS and IDX?

In order to gain participation with citrus county mls, a REALTOR® member must:

  • Hold a valid and active real estate broker’s license or,
  • Be licensed or certified by the correct state regulatory agency to appraise property.
  • Agree in writing to follow all the rules and regulations of the MLS and pay any necessary fees. 
  • Both offer and accept compensation from other MLS participants. 

*Note: According to Citrus County MLS’ Policies & Procedures, just having a broker’s license does not grant automatic MLS participation. The participant should actively (this means continual and ongoing basis) participate by listing properties or accept offers of collaboration and compensation from the listing brokers or agents in the MLS. 

Does citrus county mls offer continuing education (CE) classes?

The REALTORS® Association of Citrus County (RACC) is committed to providing its members with the education and resources they need to succeed in today’s competitive Florida real estate market. RACC offers a variety of continuing education opportunities, including online courses through NAR or the CE Shop, as well as live seminars and webinars. Most of the listings of Citrus County MLS are within the MLS service area, the county of the same name. The MLS does not require property listings from cities outside of the MLS service area. Still, those listings will be accepted and included if submitted voluntarily by a Citrus County MLS participant. In consequence, Citrus County MLS currently services home buyers and sellers in neighboring Levy, Marion, Hernando, and Sumter counties.

To become a Citrus County MLS participant, real estate professionals must have a valid and active license or certification, agree in writing to follow all the MLS rules and regulations, and pay any necessary fees. The REALTOR must actively participate in the local real estate business and be willing to offer and accept compensation from other MLS participants.
