How does a new member go about being added to the NY State MLS?

What types of memberships does New York State MLS offer?

New York State MLS has the following membership options available:

  • Participant/Subscriber: Any individual who is a principal, partner, corporate officer or branch office manager representing a principal or other licensee as designated by the primary broker or otherwise acting on behalf of a  principal or their firm.
  • Other Subscribers (members): Mortgage lenders, real estate appraisers, and other businesses or individuals involved with the valuation of property in need of MLS access are considered “other subscribers.” This membership allows MLS access for market valuation, not posting listings in the database.
What are the requirements for membership in the MLS and IDX?

Individuals who have a license from a firm that participates in the MLS can become members or subscribers.

New York State MLS has teamed up with The CE Shop to bring real estate professionals reliable and convenient online courses. New York State MLS is the state’s main MLS and referral network, allowing real estate agents and brokers (as well as appraisers, mobile home dealers, and auctioneers) to list properties in any of New York’s 62 counties or all five boroughs. In addition, members have access to local and international feed to ListHub, extended data feed (to increase their listings’ exposure to buyers and agents nationwide), statewide ORPS Tax Records, IDX, HD photos, up-to-date stats & metrics, branded virtual tools, and other real estate-related tech resources such as CMA tools, Supra Locks, showing tabs, FIND, and office administration tools. 

 

All the real estate agents, brokers, and professionals will need to be licensed in order to gain access to new york state mls. The sign-up process is entirely online through the new york state mls website. First, the real estate professional should fill out the necessary information, read and accept the Terms of Use, and proceed to include their payment information. Once the payment is accepted, the login and password will be sent to the applicant via email. The professional will be prompted to enter their license information when first logging in. 

 

Depending on the state, new york state mls will either automatically verify the real estate professional’s license or require manual approval. After they input their license information, the MLS system will determine whether their firm of brokerage is already involved. If they are, the applicant’s account will be unlocked, and they’ll be ready to go! If the brokerage is not  registered, the applicant can enter their broker’s name and email so new york state mls can send the broker a participation form.
